Baumgartnerhaus in Basel

Light is at the heart of my project.
The apartment is designed to reflect and illuminate its own space.
The polycarbonate walls are lightly tinted to reflect natural light into the rooms.
The inside of the bathroom is a clear pink colour to visually warm up the room and make it feel a little more comfortable.
The stainless steel kitchen reflects the light coming through the windows off the furniture to create a stunning play of light in the room itself.
Another remarkable design feature is that the walls are designed to break up their schematic natu- re. On both floors they are hidden behind translucent glass, allowing the entrance hall to be illu- minated as it is the least lit area of the floor, creating a see-through effect. The sunlight that comes through the living room windows during the day paints the walls differently depending on the time of day. All these different interactions with light in the house create a different atmosphere in each room.
